The PAWS Behaviour & Skills Support Process
Support is a process, not a quick fix.
Whether we’re addressing a behaviour concern, building practical skills, or working on both, cats and households change as we learn more. We take one useful step at a time, notice what happens, and keep shaping the support around the cat in front of us.
For everyday care, choice changes the experience. Carrier comfort, handling, grooming, medication preparation and vet-visit readiness can all be approached in ways that help your cat feel safer, more confident and more involved.
This isn’t generic obedience training. It’s positive, fear-free preparation that can be included in a behaviour plan or shaped as its own focused goal.
The plan can become clearer and more effective over time, without asking your cat or your household to change everything at once.
The loop keeps moving: Monitor → Evaluate → back to Plan. New information may also take us back to Identify or Assess.

Describe what the cat is doing in clear, observable terms.

Depends on what you notice:Progressing well? Continue the plan at home and keep building on what's working.
Stuck, plateaued, or the behaviour has shifted? A single follow-up gives us a fresh look, fine-tunes the existing plan, and checks nothing's been missed.
Complex, layered, or multiple behaviours involved? A consultation package allows for a more thorough process, deeper assessment and ongoing support across several sessions, rather than a single check-in.

Introductory pricing is available while I finalise my studies, same tailored plans, at a rate that reflects where I'm at in my training journey.
A relaxed first conversation for you and your cat. We’ll talk through what’s happening, what you’d like support with and whether The PAWS Approach is the right fit.
The call can be about behaviour concerns, cat skills and cooperative care, or a combination of both.
You’ll have the opportunity to share a little about your cat, your household and what has prompted you to get in touch.
We’ll discuss your concerns, answer initial questions and consider whether a tailored consultation would be helpful for you.

A comprehensive one-on-one consultation to understand your cat’s behaviour, environment, body language and routines, then turn that understanding into a practical plan you can use.
Together we can focus on behaviour concerns, cat skills and cooperative care, or both. This may include litter tray avoidance, scratching, fear, aggression, night-time activity, multi-cat tension, carrier comfort, handling, grooming, medication preparation or vet-visit readiness.
Before — A preparation questionnaire captures your cat’s history and the details that matter.
Together — A live, approximately 90-minute session, in person around Canberra or Queanbeyan, or online anywhere in Australia. You don’t need to choose the perfect focus beforehand, we’ll work out what will be most useful for you and your cat.
After — A written, tailored behaviour modification or skills plan, with practical phases, progress markers and vet liaison where needed.

Have more than one cat? Each additional cat you’d like included is $50 and will be included in the tailored plan.

Support that meets you in the middle.
A comprehensive consultation package for cats and their people who would benefit from more time, observation and adjustment. Together, we’ll consider how your cat communicates and responds to their environment, routines and daily experiences, then turn that understanding into a practical plan we can refine as your cat’s needs become clearer.
The package can be tailored to behaviour concerns, cat skills and cooperative care, or a combination of both. This may include support with litter tray avoidance, scratching, fear, aggression, night-time activity, multi-cat tension, carrier comfort, handling, grooming, medication preparation or vet-visit readiness.
Before — A preparation questionnaire captures your cat’s history and the details that matter. With your consent, relevant clinical information can also be shared between your vet and The PAWS Approach.
Together — An initial, approximately 90-minute consultation, in person around Canberra or Queanbeyan, or online anywhere in Australia.
After — A written, tailored behaviour modification or skills plan with practical phases, progress markers and guidance for monitoring your cat’s wellbeing. Vet liaison is included where needed.
Follow-up — Two additional 30-minute sessions to review progress, answer questions and adjust the plan as your cat’s needs become clearer.
